Patriot acting
A profile of an American falsely accused of terrorism who has been fighting the system and the Patriot Act the past three years — and winning.
Maybe our Constitution is retrievable after all.

It seems to me that there is a growing number of incidents, actions, decisions, strategies and agendas that are being disgraced; and, hopefully, these fools errands are attracting sufficient attention and negative reaction to really create a ground swell against the imperial presidency and corporate owned administration and, sadly, congress – even the shiny, new Democratic congress.
Hopefully, those opposed to the policies of the Bush White House and in favor of the U.S. Constitution, will continue to rack up victories. Hopefully on-line advocacy and an informed electorate will recover the U.S. of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and we will not find ourselves in a relatively wealthy, modified police state, nor even having to take back our country through mass rallies, lengthy sit-ins – as in the Orange revolution – or more dramatic means.
Hopefully the USA can return to being a leader in providing rights for individuals, and a beacon of hope for emerging democracies around the world, rather than the spendthrift bully we seem to have become.
The Bush administration needs to be thrown out at the earliest possible opportunity. Furthermore, proceedings investigating their many crimes against the state should be begun right away. These people are not patriots. They are criminals.

Lee, that last line of yours may be a paraphrase of the basis for the late-in-life correspondence of Jefferson and Adams. I believe it is. And I believe it was what kept them in touch…the bond was amazing.
So is the durability and cohesiveness of our Constitution.
