Click here for a nice profile on Harry Shearer in today’s LA Times. (And do it fast, while the paper is still in business.) I’ve been a Shearer fan for a long time. I can’t think of anyone who qualifies as the Steve Allen of this generation, but Shearer probably comes closest in having the ready wit and penetrating intellect. (But not, I understand, the avuncular charm.)
