Another startup

There are still bright spots in the economy. All the business journals advise that now is the time to start a business. So I’d like to applaud the latest startup, which opened today in my own neighborhood. If you’re in the area, I hope you’ll stop on by. I was only the first of their many customers so far. And I have to say, the fresh-squeezed orange juice they offer was the best I’ve had in a long time!

    I see potential here.

If they could hook up with a guy who could lead a team of innovative marketeers, brimming with ideas to leverage new media, old media and as-yet-unthought-of-media, they could build this thing into a nationwide franchise, reach the heights of success, and then sell-out.

Then they’d have a life with few responsibilities; and freedom to hang out with their friends, play as they wish and have other people cook, clean and pay the bills for them.

    But wait…

First let’s round that price up from 90 cents to a buck.

No, see, that was the GENIUS of the younger partner’s pricing plan. He correctly guessed that most customers would say, “Keep the change.” And every one of them (except me) did.

No wonder you can afford cable tv and feeding hamburgers to deadbeats like me, you’ve put your children out on the street to fend for themselves. You BASTARD!
