I laughed and laughed. Made funnier by being without sound. Curly, my favorite pie-thrower. Larry, my favorite pie haver. Ray Walston, My Favorite Martian. If only Bush’s reflexes had been so stealthy after Andrew Card told him that the South Tower had been hit, the world may be a different place today. And, calling Bush a Stooge is a moniker that I do not believe he has earned. To term him a Stooge places him too high up in this class of comedy. His was all LOW. But I’m not casting aspersions on the meaning that you’re going for.

There was some question about why Bush stood up after the first shoe was thrown, thereby making himself a target for the 2nd. Someone on NPR conjectured that perhaps he couldn’t do the math.

Whatever the case, it’s the perfect coda for his presidency.
